We follow standard philatelic grading – Mint Never Hinged (MNH), Mint Hinged, Used, etc. We describe condition honestly and include photos when possible. If you need more details about a specific item’s condition, just shoot us a message before bidding or buying.
We specialize in classic stamps from 1847 to 1985 – that sweet spot where you’ll find some real gems! Our inventory includes U.S. stamps and international stamps from around the world. We’re especially excited about our collection from “dead countries” – those fascinating places that no longer exist, like East Germany, Yugoslavia, and more. These make for incredible conversation pieces and often have great investment potential.

Can you tell me how valuable a stamp is?
We’re happy to give some guidance and point you in the right direction. If you inherited a family member’s album check out our blog on inherited stamp collections. That will explain your options. For an”official” estimate or suspected high value stamps, we recommend using the PSAG or other philatelic groups that specialize in this.
Does Ruben’s buy stamps?
Sometimes. We’re pretty selective on what we buy – we only have so much space! We are not avid resellers like some of the bigger stamp companies and don’t just buy anything. You’re always welcome to send us an e-mail and ask us.
Absolutely! We love assisting new collectors with tips and advice on building their collections. Stamp collecting is a great way to connect with – and own pieces of history! Stamps are much easier to keep than a classic car and won’t scare your neighbors like an old howitzer in your front yard.
